Dhruv founded autoX in 2006 with little clue of what lay ahead. Driven by a passion for anything on four wheels and a stubborn will to succeed, he moulded a team as pig-headed as him to create a medium that could adequately communicate the magnificence of the automobile to an unsuspecting audience. Today, autoX stands for independence, candidness, and objectivity – but, most of all, for heart & soul. And that’s one ingredient that has to come from within. Be warned, however, it is infectious!
Assistant Editor with autoX, Ishan has great technical and practical knowledge, and his life-long love for cars has seen him devote some of the best years of his youth to a perhaps wasteful, yet satisfying, pursuit of his obsession with automobiles. He has worked with lifestyle publishing brands as a freelance / consultant for over 5 years and as a part of the autoX team for 3 years.
Arup has been an automotive journalist for almost a decade and has worked with both newspapers and magazines, such as The Indian Express, Auto Bild India (as one of the founding team members) and Business Standard. Currently, he is Features Editor at autoX, and continues to juggle his craze for cars and the Arsenal Football Club.
Editor – Automotive at The Indian Express and Contributing Editor with autoX, Ashish has been a motoring and travel journalist for 10 years. He was a race car driver and raced in the FISSME class. Professionally, he has worked as a trade consultant and analyst with several agencies and media houses. He has a creative bent of mind and is passionate about photography and travel.
Jared’s love for automobiles started at a young age, when he first got behind the wheel of his dad’s Gypsy – he has since been fascinated with jeeps and pick-up trucks, and has an undying affection for old Cadillac’s. Once he was introduced to dirt-biking, he instantly became a die-hard motorcycle enthusiast. Jared has toured across the US, Europe & India.
Shahwar specializes in hard-core adventure motorcycling around the isolated and mysterious parts of North East India. He’s been involved with automobiles on many different levels for as long as he can remember. Since his youth, he’s been collecting as well as restoring cars and motorcycles. Shahwar has also travelled extensively around India – and he continues to work as a travel writer and an automotive journalist.
Vinayak is autoX‘s Motorsport Editor. He’s worked as a motorsports journalists for more than 6 years, and he’s travelled the world to closely follow F1, Moto GP and rallying – even if it’s on his own time. Vinayak is also an expert on Indian motorsports, and he has extensively covered F1 in India and has interviewed some of the sports most famous personalities.
Abhishek did a J-Turn with his life when he decided to point his life towards living the motor life. Joining the profession when it began riding the mainstream web curve, he has worked to understand the requirements of blending the soul of a motoring publication with the requirements of the online space. His interest in the sphere rests with cars primarily, which he believes to strictly maintain in immaculate condition. Abhishek’s preferred fuel type is petrol and he just can’t get enough of a responsive, high revving engine. On occasion, he loves driving to secluded places to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
A passionate writer, editor, and driver, Karl is the go-to man when it comes to four wheels. Karl’s focus is on luxury and sports brands as he contributes to influential international magazines, with a demographic oriented towards high-end vehicles. Whether it’s for his sense of humour, ability to conduct a deep technical analysis, or just provide an opinionated rant, Karl is a man who simply tells it like he sees it!
Based in Germany and in New York, Jens is one of the foremost international motor journalists. Jens has covered the automotive industry from the business, product and technological perspective for the past 16 years. He writes for a number of highly respected global outlets and serves as a director on the steering committee of the World Car Awards. Jens owns a collection of classic cars of the 1970’s and 80’s.wheels.
Joe Saward has been covering Formula 1 full-time since 1988 during which time he has not missed a race. His extensive experience has seen him work at the BBC and with Autosport magazine for whom he served as the International and Grand Prix editor. If there is something afoot in the F1 paddock, chances are Joe knows of it and is on speaking terms with who is saying it.
Rahul is a die-hard automobile enthusiast. His love for cars started at the age of five, at his cousin’s vintage car garage. It was then he decided that he would mould his life around cars, photography and racing. He also has a keen interest in music, and has produced and engineered music as well as sound for short films before he became a journalist. He lives his life with a peculiar attitude of “how hard can it be?”
Shivank joined mechanical engineering thinking it would be all about working on fancy cars and fast motorcycles. Fortunately, before reality struck, he jumped ship and started penning down his love for all things automotive to earn a living. Despite being a distressed engineer, he still has a nose for mechanics. And, given a chance, he can talk incessantly about his love for Jeremy Clarkson and MotoGP.
Moving the electronic mouse randomly on his desk, Kapil brings the magazine to life through creative layouts and art direction. This has helped autoX become the most visually captivating auto magazine in India. He has an experience of 15 years in the realm of art, design and photography. Most often, you’ll find him behind his Canon 70-200 IS II lens.
