The newly named, Hero MotoCorp recently unveiled its new global corporate logo in London. Along with a host of celebrities the Indian manufacturer of two-wheelers also launched a line of brand new products, one of them being a very attractive mutli-purpose motorbike named the Impulse. For the first time, an Indian manufacture is offering a dual purpose on-road off-road bike stacked with features such as nitrox-gas filled mono-shock rear suspension, a high ground clearance, large wheels with stud-type tread pattern tyres and large front disc brakes. The Impulse will come with a 150cc unit with a power output of 13bhp and 13Nm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Definite details have not been announced but the bike will be available next year.
FatBoy Special comes to India
Harley-Davidson India has added yet another model to its expansive line of beautiful bikes. The Fat Boy Special model is one of the greatest motorbikes to ever roll out of the company’s design studio. Bookings have already commenced and the bike will cost around Rs.19,70,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) because it will be imported as a CBU. This Softail variant bike is covered with satin chrome and features the lowest riding seat out of any Harley-Davidson model as well as bolder styling. The rear-suspension design mimics the lines of a vintage hardtail frame, but offers the comfort of modern suspension that is hidden under the chassis. The powerful counter-balanced Twin Cam 96B V-Twin powertrain is mated with a 6-Speed Cruise Drive transmission and would be able to produce 125Nm of torque. Harley-Davidson is currently partnered with ICICI Bank and now they have also tied up with HDFC Bank to offer multiple services like consumer and dealer financing to strengthen their business operations in India.
