N
o! We are not referring to a woman, as I am sure you can make that out by looking at the pictures, but you must confess that she’s sexy as hell, and that she really is an adult entertainer on the road, or on the track. Her name is Devon and she was designed by world-renowned Swedish designer, Daniel Paulin, who has, in this case, created a design masterpiece for Devon Motorworks – headed by Le Mans and European FIA and GT2 World Champion and proven Trans-Am winner Justin Bell. With a subtle blend of muscle and curves, the design navigates between the past and science fiction. Paulin’s new design language gives the Devon GTX a classical yet futuristic line with exquisite shapes, making it a beautifully designed Supercar in a modern mold.

This American beauty was first displayed at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours, where it was highly praised and appreciated. And now, after many successful tests at almost all of America’s most popular circuits, the Devon GTX is ready to be available for enthusiasts to purchase.

It’s a rear-wheel drive supercar that’s fitted with a front mounted brutal 8357cc 90-degree V10 engine. The power output is nothing short of pure entertainment as the car is pulled forward by 650 horses. The transmission comes in the form of a 6-speed manual gearbox, giving the driver total control over the power.

The interior of the Devon GTX is a Miesian “less is more” design inspiration, as the clean electronic dashboard further demonstrates the intent of Paulin’s vision. A neo-retro gear lever sprouts from the central transmission tunnel, topped by a white gear knob. The shifter connects the driver to the machine, mind with engine.

The Devon GTX is developed as a pure driving-oriented vehicle where design intent is all about simplicity, functionality and beauty. Among the most striking visible features are the wheel surrounds over both the front and rear wheels which are a different colour to the rest of the body. The chassis and body is made of carbon fiber and the swooping lines and minimal overhangs achieve the vision of inspiring the future of the sports car. The Devon GTX is automotive engineering in it purest form. The car is magnificent enough to make the old senile folks in Europe, such as Jeremy Clarkson, put their foot in their mouth the next time they talk lowly of American cars.
