The Polish have done a car – a hypercar. And the Brits made sure that it isn’t really polished – they made it a complete mental!

I
n the real world, the British and the Polish have never really gotten along, but in a perfect world there wouldn’t exist such an unharmonious relationship. It seems for once that we actually do live in a perfect world, because the British and the Polish have gotten together to produce one of the most perfect supercars we have ever seen.

The Arrinera, is a Polish-British supercar, which in terms of driving parameters, quality of workmanship and performance, can compete with the best of the best. The prototype has already been completed and now the project is entering its crucial phase, which is to prepare a production ready version of this stunning car. The prototype features an 8-cylinder 6.2-litre engine with a Graziano gearbox that can create a maximum power ouput of 650bhp and 820Nm of torque, and will most likely be used in the production version as well. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in under 4 seconds and from 0-200km/h in under 10 seconds. It also has the capability to brake from 300km/h to zero in just 7 seconds, which is quite fantastic.

At first glance you might think of the Arrinera as a Lamborghini, as the styling is characterized by sharp and dynamic lines, which clearly indicate the massive potential of the supercar. Two air intakes allow cooling air to be directed onto the hot brakes. Such a futuristic car body is the result of the central positioning of the massive engine, which dominates the whole design. At the back of the car, unique muffler housings with diffusers resemble the exhaust nozzles of a jet airplane.

The chassis is made from high-strength steel of variable section and considerable torsional strength. It will be extraordinarily light and characterized by high deformation resistance. The independent, multi-link suspension is optimized for high speed cornering, giving the car remarkable control. Another interesting feature is the night vision camera option, which monitors the area in front of the car at the distance of a few hundred meters. If the camera detects an object with a temperature exceeding the ambient temperature (presumably an animal or a human), the driver can see a bright and clear image of this object on a display located in the central console within normal sight line. This may significantly improve the safety level at night and when driving in fog as compared to xenon headlights. The price of production version of the car will start at $160,000.

Lee Noble, a famous British car designer and entrepreneur, will lend his name to the project. He is also a member of the supervisory board and a shareholder in Arrinera Automotive S.A. and is responsible for technical aspects related to the supercar, as well as for the design and production of the rolling chassis. As part of implementing its strategy, the management of Arrinera Automotive has signed an exclusive deal for negotiations to buy a 50% stake in Fenix Automotive Ltd from Great Britain which is controlled by Lee Noble. Arrinera plans to complete the transaction by the end of the third quarter of 2011 and this investment will enable Arrinera to carry out a strategy for building a group of companies with a very strong position in the world market of low-volume production in the ”supercar” and sports car segments, gaining access to foreign markets and technology/know-how while operating in a prestigious and elite market.
