Noble Automotive’s reputation for producing incredibly quick and fine handling cars was first established with the release of the M12 in 2001, which soon became a benchmark for its incredibly pliant ride, reassuring and precise handling and impressive power delivery. The M12 received universal praise from the world’s motoring press.
Designed and engineered with a purity that rewards driver skill, Noble’s next creation, was the M600. The car was revealed in 2009 and was neither dictated to nor hindered by unnecessary computer assistance gadgetry. The car was purely made for those who love to drive without a computer telling them what to do or taking control.
Now, Noble Automotive has thankfully unveiled the production ready version for the M600. The good thing about low volume motor manufacturers, such as Noble, is that they take pride in their individuality, attention to detail and engineering excellence.
The M600 is powered by Yamaha’s V8 4439cc twin turbo engine capable of producing 650bhp@6800rpm. It also features a Graziano 6 speed manual transmission and can reach a top speed of 360kmph, and can go from 0-192kmph (0-100mph) in under 9 seconds.
The M600 might be able to produce 650bhp, but this kind of power is always not necessary. With its Adaptable Performance Control (APC) function you can select the power output you desire depending on driving conditions. There are three APC settings – road, track and race. The selected setting is displayed on the APC dial and dashboard display.
The brakes developed for the M600 in partnership with Alcon, feature semi-floating front discs with cast aluminum alloy monobloc calipers. The wheels were manufactured by Speedline Italy and are made with forged aluminum alloys, while the tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport. |

The development prototype of the M600 was shipped to the United States where it was tested under the most dramatic and demanding of climates and terrains in order to prove and test its efficacy and engineering. For a comparative study the team also brought along a Porsche Carrera and a Ferrari Enzo. The cars were driven across the North American continent through every possible extreme condition and then finally brought to a test track in Phoenix where the M600 was evaluated against some of the fastest and most respected supercars in the world.
Using extensive wind tunnel testing back in the UK, Noble has strived to maintain the form to be as minimalist as possible, while providing the ultimate aerodynamics and cooling efficiency. Nothing about the car is cosmetic; every element of the shape and design is intrinsic to the effectiveness of the cars performance. In essence, it looks like an old school rugged sports car.
The chassis was built by hand for safety and efficiency and features stainless steel and aluminum tub constructions with an integral safety cell. It also features high H point sill sections for side impact protection, a rear crash structure and a front book carbon composite crash structure. The suspension is also brilliant and uses independent double wishbones with coils over multimatic shock absorbers.
The M600 is hand-built in England and is finished to the clients’ exact cosmetic requirements. During the build the customer is invited to view the progress and meet the engineers and designers involved. The car body is made up of carbon fibre which gives it a light weight of 1250kg. There are over 15 colours to choose from and a variety of interior designs as well. Noble has not yet released prices for the M600, but judging the engineering brilliance and craftsmanship that have gone into this car, we expect it to range anywhere between $250,000 and $350,000. However, given the fact that this car is a display of sheer British racing and performance ingenuity, there are already 40 plus orders for the car. |
