  MapmyIndia becomes more accessible

If you saw our December 2008 issue, you would have seen our review of the MapmyIndia Delphi NAV200. At the time, we mentioned that certain updates were on the anvil from MapmyIndia.

Well, they’ve just launched 2 new models – the Delphi NAV 300 and 430 Classic, which come with new, easier to use software and enhanced hardware features.

However, you no longer need a dedicated navigation device to use MapmyIndia’s services – you can now get driving directions and yellow page information from their massive treasure trove of information on your cell phone through their new SMS service. Through this service, you can either get directions between two locations, or even find the nearest petrol pump, restaurant or ATM. For details, see www.mapmyindia.com/mobile.

In addition, they’ve also launched another GPS-based application for mobile phones. This service, named ‘iNav,’ transmits the exact location of your loved ones to you, and vice-versa. With this application, you don’t have to call them incessantly to get their location.
