Aston Martin DB11
Aston Martin DB11 Preview
Successor of the hugely popular Aston Martin DB9, the DB11, has arrived in global markets. Soon the gorgeous coupe as well as its convertible (Volante) version will be heading to our shores as well. The new Aston Martin DB11 is based on a modified version of the company’s VH aluminium architecture and looks every bit as beautiful as an Aston Martin is supposed to be.
The DB11’s exterior design draws inspiration from the DBX crossover concept while the car’s stubby rear-end with massive haunches remind you of the Bond-exclusive DB10 from the movie Spectre. Inside, the DB11 gets a thoroughly revised cockpit, featuring a new upholstery, 12-inch TFT LCD display replacing analogue dials and an 8-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment that sits at the centre of the dashboard.
Powering the Aston Martin DB11 is an all-new 5.2-litre twin turbo V12 petrol engine, which as per the company is developed indigenously at Aston Martin’s R&D centre. The V12 pumps out 600bhp of maximum power along with 700Nm of peak torque – this means it’s the most powerful DB model ever!
Power is channeled to rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. 0-100km/h is dismissed in 3.9 seconds aboard the Aston Martin DB11 coupe, while it can reach up to a top speed of 320km/h. However, if you go light on the throttle, the DB11’s intelligent bank activation and start-stop technology will be activated, shutting down one of cylinders of the V12 engine, thereby, saving fuel.
The Aston Martin DB11 is expected to be priced around Rs 2 crore – Rs 2.5 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
