Honda Accord Hybrid
Honda Accord Hybrid Preview
Honda has confirmed that they will launch the ninth generation of the Accord in India. While the standard model is expected to come in with a 2.4-litre i-VTEC four-pot petrol powerplant, the Accord Hybrid will also be making its way to India. The hybrid will get a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle petrol unit supported by an electric motor with a lithium ion battery. While the petrol powered Accord will come with manual and automatic options, the hybrid version will only be available with the CVT automatic gearbox with a sport mode.
The latest generation of Honda’s Accord has received numerous changes in design and structure. It gets a bold chrome grille, much like the other Honda models on sale currently, and a sleeker headlight cluster. The front and rear bumpers too have been redesigned. The body is made from high strength steel in its construction and the front sub-frame now uses aluminium which helps it drop some weight.
The Accord will also have modern creature comforts for the occupants with plush interiors and technology. The latest generation of the Accord will get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto made usable through a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features include, keyless entry, rear view camera with parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, automatic headlamps, leather upholstery and more. The Accord will be Honda’s answer to Toyota’s Camry, which in its hybrid version is very much in demand. The new Honda Accord is expected to make its way to India in the next few months. Expect it to carry a sticker price of about Rs 25 lakh.
