Land Rover New Discovery
Land Rover New Discovery Preview
Land Rover has been giving us short glimpses of its upcoming 2017 Discovery for a while now. This fifth-generation Discovery will make its debut on September 28. However, the British car maker has released a teaser image that reflects its inspiration from the Discovery Vision Concept showcased at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
This new Discovery gives the old square-ish design the boot, and welcomes styling that is in line with the newer Land Rover models. From the front, the Discovery looks like a grown-up and larger version of the Discovery Sport. It gets the honeycomb grille with aggressive looking headlamps. All variants of the Discovery are likely to come with LED headlights and DRLs. The large bumper and the silver scuff plate gives the Discovery a wider and more aggressive stance. Land Rover hasn’t revealed any pictures of the profile and the rear of the car as yet. If the spy shots are anything to go by, the rear too will have inspiration from its smaller sibling, but will feature a stepped tailgate and an offset number plate.
As you’d expect from a car with a heavy price tag, the new Land Rover Discovery comes heavily loaded with features. A recent video revealed a feature that permits you to adjust the seat layout of the Discovery using an app.
At the heart of things, the lower spec variants of the new Discovery will come with 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine while the top-end trims are also expected to come with the 3.0-litre V6 unit. The Land Rover Discovery will make its way to Indian shores in the second half of 2017.
