Lexus RX Preview
The Lexus RX is a mid-sized luxury crossover SUV that has been in production since 1997. The car was originally released in its home market of Japan as the Toyota Harrier, but export sales began in 1998 and it was renamed the Lexus RX. Now in its fourth generation, the Lexus RX was first produced in a compact size, but the last three generations have been classified as a mid-size crossover. The car is available with front- and four-wheel drive configurations, and several petrol powertrain options, including V6 engines and hybrid systems, have been offered.
Lexus debuted the fourth generation RX at the April 2015 New York International Auto Show. The car had undergone some big design changes including a "floating roof" design", and a revised, bolder front grille. The RX 350 features a 3.5 L V6 engine that produces 295bhp and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. There is also a hybrid variant available, and with the petrol engine and electric motor, the RX 450h hybrid has a combined power output of 308bhp. There is also a four-cylinder gasoline turbocharged engine available in the RX 200t variant. All models are offered with the option of front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The Indian market has seen a lot of new hybrid models on offer in 2016, so it would not come as a surprise if Lexus does decide to bring the hybrid variant of the RX to India as well.
The RX also has got a fantastic interior setup with exclusively available Mark Levinson Audio and a versatile dual-screen Rear-Seat Entertainment System. And there is the panorama glass moonroof provides a broad swath of light to rear-seat passengers. There are also optional F Sport exterior styling features that include a more distinctive front bumper, upper and lower grille inserts, rear valance and rear spoiler.
