Mercedes-Benz CLA Facelift Preview
After the success of the smallest entry level sedan from Mercedes-Benz, the CLA will get a facelift to refresh the design of the coupe-like sedan. The facelift will include changes being made to the design of the front bumpers and will also get the diamond radiator grille as standard, found on the latest version of the A-Class hatchback. The head lights are now full LED high performance also and tail lights with automatic intensity control. The rear bumper has also been changed and now looks more like its AMG cousin with aero ducts on the flanks.
The CLA’s interior will also get some design updates as well. The upholstery will be redesigned and styled, some chrome elements on the centre console, dash, door handles and the steering wheel have been added, in addition to numerous technological enhancements inside the cabin. Hands-Free Access for the rear boot-lid and better smart phone connectivity have been integrated into the infotainment system designed to offer more comfort while keeping safe and easy usability while driving. Right in the centre is a a much slimmer-looking freestanding 8-inch media display screen with a new-style glass cover.
For the Indian market, only the 7-speed automatic transmission will be available with a choice of petrol and diesel engine options. The CLA is expected to receive no changes it its engine line up for India. The CLA 200 petrol is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that develops 183hp and a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 136hp in the CLA 200d, however, some performance and efficiency updates are expected in the engines. A similar facelift is also expected for the CLA 45 AMG soon.
