Nano to roll out in Bangladesh soon

Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce Bangladesh to one of the world’s smallest and cheapest cars, the Nano. The local distributor, Nitol-Niloy, will be importing around 2000 cars initially and then as per the demand, more cars will be imported. Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmed, Chairman, Nitloy-Niloy Group, confirmed that the Nano will soon set foot on Bangladeshi soil.

When asked about the price, Ahmed said that the Nano will cost around 500000 taka (approx Rs. 3 lakh), but the final price will depend on the government's decision on custom duty. Tata Motors was geared up to launch the car in Bangladesh in October 2011, but the launch was postponed citing pricing issues. Indian cars could not access the Bangladesh market and the small car will set an example for others to follow.
