Teaser video from Honda Indonesia’s social media channels gives us a closer look at what to expect
Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) entered the MPV segment with the launch of the Mobilio in 2014. While the car was received well at the beginning, the sales numbers gradually reduced. It has been more than two years since its launch and the car is about to get a mid-life update. Honda Indonesia recently released a teaser image of the Mobilio facelift across its social media platforms giving us a glimpse of what the car could be like.
The Mobilio facelift gets a new bolder front grille, much like the rest of the Honda line-up on sale currently. On either side of the grille, the Mobilio headlights are now sharper and come with Daytime Running Lamps. The front bumper with the air dams and the circular fog lights remains largely unchanged. The Mobilio also gets a new alloy wheel design in this facelifted model. The teaser video didn’t show any footage or pictures of the rear of the car but we expect it to come fitted with LED taillamps. That aside, changes to the rear will be minimal.
Last year, Honda gave an update to the Amaze and Brio with mild changes to the interiors. Expect the Mobilio to carry similar changes. The dual-tone treatment to the dashboard will continue but the Mobilio is also likely to get silver accents on the dash much like its siblings. In terms of features, the Mobilio facelift will also get automatic climate control. At the heart of things, the Mobilio will continue with the same petrol and diesel engine options.
The Honda Mobilio facelift is about to unveiled on January 13 in Indonesia. Currently, there is no news from Honda India about the launch of the Mobilio facelift, but if does come in, the refreshed version is sure to boost sales. The Japanese car maker has the City facelift and the Jazz-based WR-V cross-hatch on the cards in the near future.
