Toyota has launched the Innova Crysta in India with a brand new petrol engine at a price of Rs. 13.72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
In the midst of the diesel ban, the sales of diesel cars in the National Capital Region has taken a major hit. Due to which many manufacturers have either had to modify their engines to bypass the ruling, or create a brand new engine all together. Due to the diesel ban, Toyota has had to develop a brand new petrol engine for the Innova Crysta in India.
The Innova Crysta is the only vehicle in its segment that offers a petrol engine, and the brand new petrol engine that Toyota has developed is a 2.7-litre, 4-cylinder, Dual VVT-i engine that develops 163bhp and 245Nm of torque. The petrol Innova Crysta will be offered with a choice of either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota is claiming and ARAI fuel economy figure of 10.83 kmpl in the automatic variant and 9.89 kmpl in the manual variant for the new petrol engine.
The new 2.7-litre petrol engine will be available on the Innova Crysta as a Gx trim (7 or 8 seating option) and a Vx (7-seating option) for the manual version. The automatic will be available as a Gx 7 or 8 seater and a Zx trim with only 7-seater option.
The petrol Innova Crysta will also be offered in a brand new set of colours: namely Garnet Red, White Pearl Crystal Shine and Avant-garde Bronze. Bookings and deliveries of the Crysta have begun as of now and the car is available at all Toyota dealership across the country with a price range of Rs. 13.72 lakh to Rs. 19.62 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
