Fuel Saving Tips

Get your car serviced at proper intervals. Most car companies recommend 8,000 - 10,000 kilometers, however, in our conditions, it’s better to perform an oil change between 6,000 – 8,000 kilometers

Try not to overload your car with unnecessary items. A number of people carry unnecessary items in the boot of their cars – added weight means the engine works harder and drinks more petrol

Check the alignment of your vehicle at every service, or even sooner. If the alignment of your car is out, its rolling resistance will increase and mileage will suffer

Check and maintain the recommended tire pressure prescribed by the manufacturer at all times

It’s not necessary to use premium fuel on cars that don’t require it. Only high end cars with high compression engines require fuel with higher octane ratings

Exercise use of the thermostat control of your cars air conditioner. The thermostat doesn’t always have to be at the extreme end of the cold/blue corner. Adjust it a notch or two towards the center. This will reduce a certain amount of load off your engine as the compressor no longer has to be on all the time
