With the Logan, we've only seen the tip of the iceberg from Mahindra Renault. Once their new manufacturing facility near Chennai is complete, we can probably expect more variety from Renault's French stable, albeit not till 2009. |

The Logan, while it’s a very capable entry-level machine, and one
that’s fantastic value for money, is really of Romanian origin, and it's
about as French as processed cheese. French cars are known to be unique, to have flair and elaborate style – to be, well, French chic. |

To give you an idea of what could be headed our way in future, we drove one of Renault's best selling models on its home turf – the Renault Megane 1.5 DCi. This car, as the name suggests, has a 1.5 litre, CRDI, turbocharged, diesel engine, which has a reasonable 106bhp – in fact, the engine block is very likely the same as the one found in the engine bay of the diesel Logan. |
