Toyota’s next generation of eco friendly vehicles will be along the lines of its Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicle that is powered by an electric motor, the company’s proprietary fuel cell stack and high pressure hydrogen tanks. The electric motor develops 152bhp of power and 335Nm of torque. And since this is not a conventional hybrid vehicle you do not have to worry about charging the batteries. The Mirai takes about three to five minutes to refuel and gives the car a driving range of 480 kilometres.
However, it can only be driven in places that have the facility of hydrogen fuel pumps like in Japan and California. The Mirai has been styled to look as futuristic as it is sharp lines and angular design elements really make it stand out.
Due to the lack of hydrogen refilling infrastructure, the Mirai will not be making it to India.
