Audi A3 Facelift
Audi A3 Facelift Preview
To break into the entry-level luxury car segment, Audi surprised us with the three-box approach and launched the A3 in India. It has been more than 2 years since its launch and Audi is all set to bring in a facelift. The design updates on the A3 bring it in line with the rest of the Audi line-up. The 2017 A3 gets a larger sharper grille up front, along with a revised air dam to accommodate bigger intakes. Other changes on the refreshed A3 include a chiselled bumper and ab edgier headlight design featuring Matrix LED units. At the back, the taillights have been reworked along with a sporty diffuser. Audi has also fitted the A3 with dynamic turn indicators.
Much of the interior remains unchanged except this facelift model gets an all-black treatment. The steering wheel is now flat bottom and looks sportier. Giving the conventional cocks the boot, Audi has introduced the virtual cockpit in the A3 facelift. The 12.3-inch display allows you to choose between two modes – traditional or infotainment.
Internationally, the Audi A3 facelift is on sale with a range of engine options, but in India it will come with a 2.0-litre gasoline unit and a 2.0-litre diesel mill. The petrol powered A3 churns out peak power of 187bhp and max torque of 320Nm. Interestingly, the diesel too makes similar torque output. At 148bhp, the diesel iteration makes marginally more power than the outgoing model. The 2017 Audi A3 facelift is expected to be launched around the Rs 28 lakh mark. The luxury car maker is likely to launch its entry-level saloon in the first quarter of 2017.
