Tata Tigor Preview
The Tata Tigor compact-sedan was first unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo under the name - Tata Kite 5. The Tigor will replace the aging Indigo eCS, and is based around the same platform as the new Tiago hatchback. In comparison to its predecessor, the Tigor sedan looks much more modern and contemporary. Since it’s based on the Tiago, it features similar design elements, although it comes with a stubby boot that is nicely integrated on to backside of the hatchback. Dimension wise, it measures 3.99 meters in length. After the Zest, the Tigor sedan will be Tata’s second offering in the sub-4m segment. Thanks to its stretched dimensions, it will have more space at the back as compared to the Tiago.
Powering the Tigor sedan will be the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine and 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder, diesel engine as offered on the Tiago. Both the engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata may offer AMT on the sedan as well.
Inside, the Tata Tigor sport the same design and layout as the hatchback, which means it will look more upmarket and better built than the outgoing model. It will also come with a 5-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system among other creature comforts inside the cabin
