Volvo New XC60
Volvo New XC60 Preview
Volvo has big plans for its India market. They have already introduced the Polestar sub-brand in India with the launch of the S60 Polestar and plan bring a few more models to our shores this year. Of these, expect the XC60 to be replaced by the new-generation model. This new Volvo XC60’s design is somewhat inspired from the larger XC90. Up front, this one too gets the rectangular grille with sleek Thor hammer headlamps on either side. In profile, it looks like a scaled down version of the XC90. The rear, however, is a lot flatter than its larger sibling. The most interesting bit about the XC60 though is the engine that it is expected to come with. Volvo tells us it will be fitted with their most powerful 2.0-litre D5 diesel motor. The twin-turbocharged unit makes 232bhp and 480Nm. All the power is sent to all four wheels with the help of the 8-speed transmission that we have already seen on the XC90 and the S90. The Swedish car maker claims that the XC60 can do the 0-100km/h run in just 7.8 seconds and record a top speed of 220km/h. Just like the other new-generation Volvos on sale right now, expect the XC60 to come loaded with features. It will get, air-suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, Bowers and Wilkins audio system, touchscreen infotainment, heads-up display, and more. Volvo has announced that they will be producing the XC60 at their facility in Pune which means they should be able to price it extremely competitively. Expect the XC60 to be launched towards the end of the year at around Rs 55 lakhs.
